What does Pixel mean?
A small script or image request placed on a page to record a visit or conversion in an ad platform or tracker.
Conversion pixels fire in the visitor's browser when a page loads, telling the platform a conversion happened. They are easy to place but depend on the browser, cookies and consent, which is why S2S postbacks replaced them for affiliate conversions. Platform pixels (Meta, TikTok) still matter for algorithmic optimisation.
